Broome Boat Fishing Question
Submitted by Simo_ on Sat, 2018-08-18 11:39
I'll be in Broome next week and was wanting to get out on the boat and get into some bottom fish, can anyone point me in the right direction as I haven't been out there before and not sure where to start looking.
cheers

How long you up there for
How long you up there for simo? I’m here at the moment and heading to crab creek tomorrow to try for a threadie and a couple of crabs. I’m here for the next 3-5 weeks. . I have asked around and for the bottom species I’ve been told from around 10-20 mile out. Don’t know what direction though.

I managed to pick up a 56cm coral trout and the deckie picked up 50cm spangled emperor. Lost a couple good fish to 5he taxman as well. We were around 10nm from the ramp near the port.

Broome isnt the place to go
Broome isnt the place to go for bottom fishing, there are far better places to go. Exmouth, coral Bay etc. If you are looking for big threadfin Salmon, Sailfish, Tuna, Mackies, maybe Bluebone inshore..... you will do ok.
