Broome boat ramps update
Submitted by RohanKok on Fri, 2018-04-20 10:27
Hi all,
I am planning a trip to Broome later this year towing the boat (Bar Crusher 615 HT) and I am wondering what the boat ramps are like up there these days? I have never been to Broome before and I did a search on FW and most of the discussions are a few years old or more. I am no stranger to working out tides for launching and retrieving and I have a very capable 4WD. I am just hoping that by now there might be some convenient boating facilities in Broome?
Any update and advice is much appreciated.
Rohan.

Tows quite easy
The spec sheet for mine says the tow weight is 1.62 T as dry weight. So I guess with 140 L of fuel on board and all the usual fishing and camping gear it would be close to 2 T. My 4WD is also only rated to 2.5 T towing capacity and I sit on 100 km/h relatively easy in 4th gear but obviously slower on the hills. The boat sits on a Easytow trailer with hydraulic brakes, which is a pretty good trailer so far. The HT series obviously has a lot more drag than the C series, so depends on what you are looking to get.

Got a good drop down spare
Got a good drop down spare and happy with a beach launch? Broome hasn’t changed the last few years. It’s still shit.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Boat facilities haven't
Boat facilities haven't changed in years ....STILL CRAP.
Saying that though you won't have any trouble launching at entrance point ramps with the size boat you have just don't stuff around putting the boat back on. Launching and retrieving on low we go to the left of ramp a fair way and launch on the harder ground rather than the rippled sand The slipway is an option depending on the tide. If you come up PM me and I will show you the best ways.
