Have you tried the various fresh fish places around the metro area and shopping centres. Maybe fish and chip shops.
They may charge you a nominal fee but worth it.
Alternatively get yourself a throw net (+license) go to the beach and try your luck (especially an hour before sunrise with a bit of fish oil in the water first). Then its free.
Yeah i saw a post quite a while back about someone selling mulie seconds so thought id ask and see what came up. Ive been using a mulie, chook food and tuna oil mix works well but a bit expensive. Id just buy a mix if it was good and cheap.
My mate gets old frames from the seafood section of an IGA. He knows a few people though, not sure if they would give them out freely, couldn't hurt to ask though
