Busselton Area Tips
Heading down to Busselton for my first time (usually hit south coast) in two weeks for a 5 day holiday with the family & am keen to get some fishing in. As it's a family holiday my fishing time will be limited so I really want to make the most of the opportunities I do get & as I've never fished the area before, I was hoping people could pass along some tips on rigs, baits, lures, target species & if they are feeling really generous, spots (PM me), to help me make the most of it? I know about the jetty but am hoping to be pointed towards some less crowded locations that are accessible in a 2wd. I've got gear to cover ANY landbased situation but recommendations on what outfits will be most usefull to me are very welcome as I only have room for 2 or maybe 3 combos. I release 99% of what I catch & never leave a mess behind so anyone that does share a spot can rest easy knowing I'm not going to kill the place.
Thanks in advance for any info.

places to fish
there are a few places to fish prob a good spot is off the rocks of port geo marina with a floating mulie on a set of 3 3/0 gangs or the odd lure but it is a bit hard on the beach at some spots because of the seagrass with the last week storm but hope you have fun fishing cityflicker

Thanks guys. Don't mind
Thanks guys. Don't mind driving a bit Feral, I'm keen to head over to Sugarloaf & Yallingup so a detour to Dunsborough is no problem. I'm probably going to take a combo for throwing lures at tailor & hopefully salmon as well as one of my heavy beach combos.

Salmon have been a bit quiet
Salmon have been a bit quiet the past week or so, Ide go south coast. Plenty of big tailor around, skippy and tarwine. After the storms last week wouldn't be surprised if a pinky showed up. The jetty is always a good option to. Happy hunting.

Thanks mate. The accomodation etc is already paid for so I can't change the destination now without taking a big hit. I usually take my holidays down at Walpole but the missus wanted to head somewhere different this time so that's what's happening.

If weather allows
go over to the west coast. There are good numbers of Tailor/Herring and still small numbers of BIG Salmon around.
The pros seem to think that the back run will start soon so hopefully we get another hot run of Salmon. The first run was just way too short
