The Busso Jetty Report 10-10-12
The warm weather is here and the good summer fishing is just around the corner. Large snook are here in good numbers which means the big greenback tailor are not far away. Plenty of choppers can be caught on the first half of the jetty on days the SW winds are blowing. Most of the action can be found closer to shore at the moment especially in the evening. Good sized crabs are about in numbers with most people bagging out with the blue swimmers. Just remember the size limit is 127 mm with a bag of 10 per person. Squid numbers have dropped off in the past few weeks but the ones that have been caught have been monsters. Out towards the end of the jetty the herring numbers have been very good, a feed can be caught in very little time especially between 5pm and 7pm. Large Sampson fish can be found towards the end in the morning chasing the mulie schools hanging around the pylons, one bloke landed 4 in one morning session.
Tight lines everyone and good luck.

Not sure about the ones
Not sure about the ones caught but there have been monsters about, I have seen up to 6 fish milling around at one time. I was pinged by a monster, the 4 were caught the next day I was informed. I also saw one at the fist cleaning station last week that would have been a good 40kg easy. I have heard reports of them pinging 80-100 lb lines so cord is the way to go by the looks of things.

Did anyone see the 8ft tiger shark caught out the end the other day. There is a photo. Apparently it only weighed 50 kg.

Sure do mate, the summer
Sure do mate, the summer months are the best for crabs in the bay. Another good place to go for the crabs in summer is behind the hostpital using a scoop, it is great fun and makes for a good change from drop netting on the jetty.

Had a very good tailor run
Had a very good tailor run tonight, the water was very choppy just the way they like it. Landed 5 all around about 40cm+ which is good considering I didn't get there till rather late.

Hey Jetty rat.... Are things still going as per your report? Heading down tomorrow night and will basically be spending the w'end on the jetty as a part of my old mans 50th bday pressie (he's strictly lb hence the jetty).
Are the sambos still around? Would love to get him onto one of them! And how's the squid going? We're definitely going to be targeting a fresh feed if squid
Thanks, Steve
