HELLO every one out in cyber space , I'm looking for some info on wether I should get a polarizing filter or uv filter , I will be mainly doing pics in the boat and glare is a MAJOR factor out there , would a polarizing filter be better than a UV filter , and what are the differences ??? if any , I don't want to go out and buy every different filter there is , and putting my Polaroid sunnies over the front of the camera just doesn't work ???
I am getting the fill flash worked out, now I have just to get the glare side of my fishin' pics would be good before Sambo jigging gets fired up .
CHEERS guys ( & gals)

Filters
Polarising Filter -
Essential for outdoor photography; deepens intensity of blue skies; reduces or eliminates glare. Use circular polarizers for auto-focus cameras, as recommended by the camera manufacturer.
UV Filter -
Protects lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage.
Is what I basically found out.

I don't know a hell of a lot
I don't know a hell of a lot about photography and cameras but if the information Adam provided is anything to go by I'd say a polarising filter would be better for what you want to do.

Fill flash
My digi camera has it's own flash as well as a hot shoe for an add on flash but , the fill flash is a setting where it's not the full blast of the flash , my camera has about 6 different intensity settings for each setting ie red eye reduction can have 6 diff intensities set as well as the other flash settings I have , my full flash is REAL bright but can go down to just a quick soft flash to just fill in under hats etc so the big burst of flash doesn't wash out colours etc,if you look at the queenie pic I had the flash on low so it filled in the face under the cap but didn't blast out and wash out the fantastic colours of the queenie , if it was in the sun you probably wouldn't of even seen the guys face if the flash wasn't used .
if you can follow ???
Anyway looks like I'm going for a polarizing filter as most of my pics are either out on the water fishing or out in the bush shooting or 4X4 driving , got an invite to cull some ferals in the darling scarp soon, so look out , I'm a comming with my bang stick ,might get me a prickle head (Deer).
