Gday all, can anyone ID this shell fish found in a Pilbara salt water creek?

Hermit crabs nether end is soft without an exoskeleton. But then I have no idea. Perhaps a skinny tailed saltwater lost marron.

A mate of mine set a small meshed trap many yrs back and caught quite a few up that way.
I found it intresting that its a living fossil and can be bought quite easily online at many stores or even E-Bay.
It is also called a Mud lobster and hasnt changed much over 1000s of years.
