Captured the Fremantle traffic bridge

Well on camera and video....

I thought it was time to do some photography and video for myself as latley as i have been doing work for alot of other people.

I heard that the traffic bridge maybe getting knocked down for revamp and its a special location for me as i have fished there since i was 12 (1988)

So for the last 2 weeks i set out to capture it as i remember it. It was hard work carring thousands of $$$ of camera equipment and tripods etc around the beams and pylons but its done and now if they do knock it down i have all the memorys of my fav fishing location.

First are the Photographs i have taken then there are 2 links. First is my fishing story about this location and second is the video i finally put together......

Might have to get a canvas or 2 done for my new house soon :)

Love your work tailor

Love your work tailor marc.

Brought back some great memories for me. Thank you.

Spent many a night there with my old man with a lantern hanging off that walkway scooping up monster prawns or casting out under the rail bridge for tailor.

I can still remember watching the keen fishos clambering down the middle pylons thinking they were friggin crazy.

Phark me thinking about it that's nearly forty years ago.

Great memories

Sat, 2014-08-30 23:09

I also have great memories of prawning of that bridge with my Dad, one particular night that always sticks in my memory. My Dad and I went down to the bridge armed with the old tilly light and kerosene tin ready for a good nights prawning. When we got to the north side of the bridge ready to venture out there was a group of the locals all standing around mumbling and cursing about two guys out on the bridge who had basically taken over the whole place. Long story short they had strung a prawn net across two sections of the bridge and told all and sundry that if anyone came near their setup they would shove them in, and apparently they were very big bastards as well.

Dad took me home then hooked up the clinker dingy and left.
It appears that some time later in the night someone (identity unknown) hooked up a railway sleeper behind their boat and when about 20 yards or so from the up river side of the strung net they let the sleeper go. Presto no more net strung between sections of the bridge.

I never did find out if my Dad did it or not.
Rest in peace Dad
