Jetty Burnt

Pretty soon they will have to fence the jetty off, and just let people through whenever the little shop is being manned!!

Its a pity a small number of people can hold a whole town back so far from reaching its potential!!

Update

Have been informed that the jetty crew have enough timber in stock to rebuild the burnt section and it shouldn't be too long before its repaired.Hopefully a water main will be installed.

One possible cause of the fire could be a cigarette butt discarded and finding its way in to a crack in the decking, with a bit of wind and in a few minutes you have a fire. Saw the same thing many years ago while doing maintenance work on the jetty in Bunbury when it was a going concern, the night watchman was always putting out small fires long after everyone had gone home.

Would be an idea for them to put cctv and infra red monitoring on it with an alarm system at the caretakers house.
