Cervantes Long Weekend
Been a while since spending a long weekend up in Cervantes. Mainly due to poor weather conditions.
Got out over the weekend finally and what wonderful weather it was. Came home with something close to 20kg each of premium fillets, primarily Dhu, Baldchin and Greyband. (2 boats). Stock that freezer before the Ban.
Each day we found schools of Dhus ranging from 60-80cm, last day though mates found school of dhu's all over 10kg+. Couldn't find the big male though (perhaps next time).
No Deep drop marks off Cervantes i went to venture the deep and managed to find a school of dhus on the way out only 5k from southern passage in a barren wasteland, columned up 15m high. Absolute magic...had a play them as nothing massive then continued out.
Found a school of greyband after a couple of hours of hunting. Amongst them I pulled up my first Radiant Cod, flesh looks very clean and excited to give it a try.
All days we went out we managed to get back by lunch with a healthy looking bag.
Last day Picture: top dhu 13.5kg.

WOW
great effort !
I gave Dongara my first go on the long weekend - donut
making me feel slightly better was the fact that the two other boats back at the ramp had similar results
the ground was awesome and lots of fish on the sounder but none seemed to be eating

Depth
bloody good catch.
We were up at Cervantes as well. What depth for the grey band? Something I'm keen to try once I get the boat set up.
