Change of electric reel lcd display from Japanese to English?
Hi all,
seen as though there is an ever increasing deep drop following on here, as well as some pretty smart individuals, I have the following question.
has anyone looked into or had success, in changing an electric reel lcd display from Japanese to English?
I have a shimano Forcemaster 6000 on its way from Japan, and although there is English notation on the buttons, the Lcd screen is in Japanese (obviously the numbers are universal).
has anyone been through the exercise of changing the lcd wording from Japanese to English? And if so what was required? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Before people jump to conclusions, I do buy 90% of my fishing gear in Aus, and support site sponsors As much as I can. When the cost of supply and delivery from Japan is literally half that to buying within Australia, it's the main reason I have opted to purchase from the international market on this occasion.

Mate, bugger paying the 100%
Mate, bugger paying the 100% 'Australia Tax'. I buy a lot of bigger ticket stuff from the US and only had an issue with a robovac ($850 here and $350 from the US) and sent it back paying for postage and got a new one.
Onto your issue, the answer is obvious. You need to either learn Japanese or find a Japanese deckie

Depending on what you are after
these guys used to be competively priced. That may or may not be the case now.

Yeah awesome thanks gilly
I only managed to test it out the one day because a lot of the other time I was jigging with pe3 or pe5. But when bottom
bashing for gold band it was awesome! Definitely happy with the reel itself

I found a user manual
I found a user manual converted into English online. It had the Japanese and English symbols as well side by side. Outside of that, I made some Japanese fishing friends until I could work it out :) Other way is just to try not to touch too many buttons when out at sea on it :)
