Who else is supporting swimmers in the channel swim saturday week?
I am supporting a soloist again (the one who proposed to his partner on the beach at the finish in 2014).
Our race number is 021. Give us a shout out as you go past.
Paul's goal is to do sub 7 hours for the first time (his goal last time solo was to finish so he could propose...)

Yes will be there, team 488
Yes will be there, team 488 its a duo, one of the swimmers completed the solo previously. Heard it is chaos out there on the water and I suspect boat ramps, but attended all briefings and completed all boats checks as recommended expecting 5-6 hrs pending on weather conditions. Good luck, be safe and enjoy the day.

Good luck blokes very hectic day. Skippered last year for a team of four.
Launched at Leeuwin boat ramp for 330am only had a parking bay as sister Inlaw got there early to save a bay.
Hope you have a mooring booked over there if your staying the night and there is limited to none spots left during the day

Its a great day but after 5
Its a great day but after 5 years I have pulled out this year - swimmers very disappointed - but i think its just too much pressure on the running gear - 7 hours of idling and in and out of gear - but I will be heading over for a beer before the crowd arrives :-) and I wont miss the chaos of the start and the bottle neck at the end!

I am launching the night
I am launching the night before at maylands and probably mooring up near the raffles somewhere. Will sleep on board and pick up my spotter off applecross jetty at 3.30.
Have a mooring and camp site booked for saturday night but will probably have to kick someone off the mooring on arrival.

For those who are
For those who are accompanying swimmers, please make sure your boat is in good condition. It's disappointing for swimmers & crew if we, or another rescue group have to tow someone back to the marina.
I'm sure if a boat has to be towed back then the swimmer or swimmers must exit the water . I could be wrong.
Be safe to all & good luck.
Cheers & Stay safe

First time this year and my swimmer will enter the water at 6:30 any recommendations for a time to launch from Cockburn, I kow how long it will take me to get to start site, just unsure about the number of boats likely to launch from this ramp? Thinking launching at 5am, a mate is bringing the trailer home for me.
