Not bad at all. I just paid $1.60 in Carnarvon and didn’t think that was too bad.

$1.44 is a good diesel price.

Fri, 2018-12-21 17:31

$1.44 is a good diesel price. I’ll be heading for the coast after here, while Newman diesel is about $1.70. Used about 780 litres in this current tank, so it’s always good to find a cheapy. Will probably head over to Gladstone camp site after it for a couple of weeks.

They have done quite a bit of work there, toilets, showers and a bbq area. Not sure if Roger and Marion are still caretakers there

Hi cararvonite, I think Roger

Fri, 2018-12-21 17:55

Hi cararvonite, I think Roger and Marion are still there going by what I’m seeing on other forums, don’t know if they will be there in summer, but over 2 weeks, I’m sure we’ll catch up with them, I’ve got an email and phone number for them, so I can just give them a call to meet up. Going to put in the dinghy, so I’m hoping the crabs are on.

Crabs

Crabs are crawling everywhere off Monkey Mia at the moment so I would expect you will get a feed over there or if you want to travel towards Faure Island

It’s a bit complicated, but

Fri, 2018-12-21 18:40

It’s a bit complicated, but it’s a deal I made with my wife, I’ve worked at Newman twice now and I’ve worked over in Gladstone in Qld a couple of times. I will make enough here to cover probably 90% of my fuel for next year. That’s my aim, but a month a year is enough.

Took on 980 litres today in

Sat, 2019-01-05 19:31

Took on 980 litres today in Carnarvon, $1.55 so wasn’t too bad. Done a booze run, $66.00 for a box of Vic bitter, despair soon disappeared when I found Boags for $50 a box, so 5 boxes of those into the trailer.  I’m starting to like Carnarvon.

I don’t think that’s a real lot more than what is down here, I might be wrong though. I know diesel hasn’t followed the unleaded fuel price down. Got a few kilometres in the tank now though.

Hi Carnarvonite, bugger, did

Sun, 2019-01-06 17:54

Hi Carnarvonite, bugger, did not know that. I use the WA gov fuel watch and shark bay is not on there, or billabong. We’re not going to hang around at Gladstone now, there are boating restrictions in place for due the dugongs, so we’ll have a scoop for some crabs tonight and get back on the road tomorrow. Head up to bush bay for a few days.

Bush Bay

Watch out for the high tides at Bush Bay and New Beach, lots of people have woken up with wet feet from setting up too close to the beach

Haha, yeah thanks

Haha, yeah thanks Canarvonite, we always set up well back, but I can see how that can happen. We generally look at an area we’re going into with the satellite section of maps, can easily see any hazards that way.

That’s a bummer Doc, how long are the restrictions in place?
