Chronarch 2013

Finally my Chronarch arrived!

The big question is what rod.

Its for lure flicking for barra and jacks. Needs to be light enough to flick 10-25gm lures but enough back bone to stop a Barra. Will be running 20lb Sunline. Was going to run 12 but its to thin in sunline!

The Few rods i am looking at are:

Territory Deluxe 6kg

Samurai 351

Gloomis CBR 723

T-Curve tournament 3-7kg

Any other suggestions that may fit the bill ?

Cheers,

Vinnie

m8 i ve had bad experiences

m8 i ve had bad experiences with t curves

2 were replaced-and 1 of the replacements was replaced as well

all of them broke under the binding of the 3rd from last eye(reel end) one on a  small jack(which i hand lined in, the other 2 on retrieving just lures within 10 casts ( all lures were within weight range- no high sticking etc.)

was if something nicked the blank when doing the binding

to their credit shimano replaced

however the damage was done- i was rod less on a Kimberley trip, having to use charter gear(shitty at best)

the 3rd one went on a rowleys trip but i had a stand by(lesson learned)

i will never buy shimano rods again- shimano reels -daiwa rods is my motto( i ve got a daiwa monster mesh that has been abused-called it unbreakable at  a piss drinking session  mates took it for a challenge- after pulling bricks, dive weights and furniture around- we all ageed that it was a bloody tough rod)

i have a gloomis thats going strong -but i m not a fan of the short foregrip on mine, samurai mates are telling great things about

i looked at a samaki a mate bought and ordered one from cambells- i am still waiting 2 years later to hear back from them that it is in store

go to a store take the reel with , try it on the rod -let that be your guide

Fair enough!Unlucky with the T-curves

Luckily my Live baiting T-curve has landed about 30+ decent barra now and still going strong so cant complain. I have a Penn Pinpoint that i take as a backup combo !!

I would take it to the tackle store but hard to find the rods im looking for in a store.

Cheers for the input!

Just ordered a Nitro Viper Undertaker

Heard some great reports from people using them in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Cape York. Nice looking rods. Good Ratings on them. Theyve got a few, 3-6kg, 6' and the one I got was 6'6" for some extra casting distance. Worth a look. Was looking at the Loomis but a few people reported that their quality has dropped a little the last couple of years. Nice looking reel!!! I just ordered the Abu Revo Premuim today and the rod. Ill be sitting at the post office for the next week waiting...
