have you tried feeding it more fuel?
the most of my probs with 2 strokes has either been not enough fuel or 2 much fuel. whip those plugs out for a look and either replace or clean. check your leads for cracks and with a plug in the end against the block for spark? Mabee check your fuel lines for splits or cracks where it might be dragging air in? There are probably other things that it could be that iam not suggesting! that will be $55 thanks. haha

plugs
Hi mate , give the plugs a check and also make sure fuel is spraying in the carby, air sucking in the lines is a normal cause for that problem but you said ya covered that. fuel, spark and air. how does it idle when you first get it started?

Idles ok
It idles ok when it starts, the spark plugs get fuel on them. I will take off the covers and spray the carbys today, am going to replace the old fuel as well. Might even replace the tank, not sure how old it is. The bulb on the fitting that connects to the fuel tank is also small, one of the guys at BCF said you may need a bigger one as small one don't feed much fuel through?

Hers a thought
why not get an outboard mechanic to look at it shouldnt cost much at least for a diagnosis. the bulb dosent feed fuel the engine sucks, the bulb is only for initial priming.

Outboard mech
I would but my budget is really tight at the moment, if I can't sort it myself it is going to sit in the drive way for a long time. Don't if I am getting ripped off, if they are charging to much.....

Spend about $250 so far
Had the starter motor serviced, some of the bushes needed replacing. Change the fuel hose and fitting and got some carby cleaner, will be changing the fuel next. The fuel has to be at least 4 months old if not more...
So yeah about $250 so far.

Sounds like a culmination of
Sounds like a culmination of things, so go with the simple ones first - they never cost much.
You said you pulled the plugs, they're fueled up ( wet/damp ) doesn't rule out a supply issue but it'd be down the list. Are the insulators in good condition ? Any rust anywhere ?
Leads, same as plugs, insulation good ? the conductor in the fitting look ok ? Rust/Corrosion ?
Fresh fuel ! Yeah Yeah we all do it, but trying to use stale fuel is certainly not helping. Is it blowing excessive smoke when it runs ? Is the mix a bit rich ?

Try this
Try this site
http://forums.iboats.com/forum.php for repairs
also buy my parts from the US. about half the price for what they charge you here.
http://www.boats.net/
also maybe buy a manual for the boat motor. Do a search on ebay maybe cost about $10.
Basics to check- Compression, Spark and fuel.
For spark use a Spark tester. Anything else is a waste of time.
You really need to do a diagnostic using the manual cause it could be anything ie. like a charge coil that has a wire exposed due to rubbing.

She going yah!!!!
Well I sprayed some carby fuel cleaner into the opening, let it sit while I put the cover on. And you guessed it, she has started 4 times now.
Now the next question to let the fuel run dry after use or not.

if its 2 stroke
run it out of fuel when washing it but only need to do it if you dont use it regulary other wise it leaves a build up of 2stroke oil in the carby after the fuel has evaperated
