Cocos Palms Help

I've got 12 big cocos palms in the back garden around the pool, they range in height from 6-9m approx.

Th time has come for them to go, some of the neighbours have said instead of cutting them down, to put them in the Quokka and Gumtree with you remove- will need a crane, price neg, as landscape gardeners would take them due to them being mature.

Any thoughts, is this likely or should I get a mate to cut 'em down?

I have done that with some

I have done that with some palms I had at my house in Bullcreek, got calls from people that wanted them but couldn't remove them then got a call on the second week from a developer who sent a crew over and 14 palms gone in 1 day, they cleaned up the mess and filled the holes. I would suggest running the ad for 2-3 weeks if they dont go cut them down, try to work it around your council green pickup to save you getting rid of them if you cut them down.

Had the same situation with them being around a pool.

Nobody wanted to take the risk of damaging the pool ......

Got a tree lopper in, all cut down to the stumps and carted out the front for the council

to take away with their collection .

Thanks for the replies

Yeah,  if cutting them down it will be in Jan for the collection.

They're about 2m from the pool at the closest, some are next to the pump and control box.

How much were you charged Indiana and for how many trees?

As joe said (if no one takes them).  I did three not that long ago.  Mine were about 7m high - used scaffold for a safer platform.

Digging out the roots is harder - only had to do one luckly - axe, little dig, pull roots, axe, little dig, pull roots........3 days later, its ready for lifting out.  A mate with a bob cat comes in handyCool - lifted it yesterday arvo and into council blue bin.  Now to fill the hole!

Cheers Pete
