Completed my open water diver ticket today

Hi guys,

Got my open water dive ticket today, have two more days left on course though to extend my limit from 18 to 30 metres, so Im pretty stoked about it anyway.

But the main thing i wanted to report on was diving over at rotto today, we stopped at a couple of different places on the east side and soth side of the island with PDA leaving from freo and the amount of fish I saw was really amazing.

Most people who were targeting crays managed to get 2 or 3 each, I saw snapper, sambos, biiiiig mulloway, dhuies, queenies, baldchin just to name a few and we were only in 15 metres of water. I dont think they would show up on an average sounder as mostly they were hanging out under ledges etc. I havent looked closly at the zoning for the areas we were in but I am guessing the areas the dive boats stop at at rottnest are no fishing zones?

Anyway guys it just proved to me the fish are there in shallower waters, just gotta find them. might try the find a lump, dive on it, then fish it method and see how that works out.

Have a good one,

Kane

Plenty of that action

Plenty of that action offshore and rotto and away from the easily-accessible areas but pickings are very slim in Perth for 15m.
