Composite bunk material
Submitted by Marineboy on Sat, 2017-06-17 13:31
seen some boats with bunks made of a composite material (think it's about 100x50mm or 150x50mm) it avoids the need to cover the bunks with carpet or urethane strips, anyone know where to get this material from in Perth ?
cheers

Martins
martins are fairly limited on their stocks of rollers bunks etc, good for running gear.

$200 or something

Plastic recyclers
can you recall who they were rob, $200 isn't bad compared to wobble rollers and bunks are a better option in my opinion.

They arent specifically trailer bunks, they recycle into planks for building outdoor stuff etc

Midvale
google up Flexi pole. I haven't contacted them as yet.
let me know how you go as I was going to go with duralite trailers bunks as they seem more specific for use with fibreglass boats, I was a bit concerned the flexipole fencing material may be a bit hard for fibreglass .

Composite bunk
For anyone that's interested I've tracked down a local company in wangara called perma timber that sell a huge range of composite/recycled plastic products, in particular some 100x50mm decking bearer that is ideal for trailer bunks. 4.8mtr lengths are only $71.50.
Cheers
