Hi
Keen on heading out tomorrow morning around west side of Garden Island ( anchoring in 15m in 5.3m boat )
Conditions look good but 2-3m swell according to BOM
After opinion on how conditions will be with this kind of swell
Cheers

Swell isn't really an issue
Swell isn't really an issue inshore of the FFB in my opinion. As you push out to the western side of the FFB behind GI you can see and feel it build as it pushes up from 40m to 10-15m.... Just watch the wind direction & speed!

I would have said opposite!
I would have said opposite! Plenty of breakers around the back and through the channel to look out for in anything over 2.5m

Cheers beau, that was what I was thinking, I've only ever fished this area in swells under 2m and all ok then. I think I'll hold off till Sunday morning and hope wind stays light....
Are u heading out this weekend ?

I would still head out, just
I would still head out, just probably not out in the dark, always somewhere safe you can fish, as long as your guts can handle being anchored up with the swell rolling through ha ha. Nah not me, im not back in perth until october..

Going to be a beautiful day
Going to be a beautiful day out...hope the overflow car park is open as she will be busy.
I think you'll be right Roycy, stay away from the breakers...get past them....have a good look at what the swell is doing before you anchor.
Good luck and safe trip today for all.

So much for the forecast....much windier
Supposed to be 10 knots ENE but was gusting offshore to 20 at times then swung almost due north......won't complain though as the dhuies rang the dinner bell at 10.30 feeding furiously
