Converting in-floor fuel filler to deck fill

 Hi guys.

I currently have an in-floor tank that sits under the motor well. Filling it, is via the top of the tank.  I am thinking of constructing a permanent bench seat at the rear of the boat.  Doing that would mean filling up the fuel tank will be a major pain so I would like to install a deck fill on the gunnel.  Is it a matter of simply removing the current filler and then putting in off the shelf fittings? Any issues that might arise from doing that?

Thanks

As long as you use the proper rated hose Kev and yeah most fittings are readily available. Probably talk to the guys at Whitworths they should be able to steer you in the right direction.

 Filling a tank like that

Filling a tank like that vents at the filler hole. If you extend the filler hole with a hose then you will need to have a breather/vent somehow so it doesn't take a week to fill or regurgetate via the filler pipe.

 Awesome. Thanks Andy!

Michael, the fuel tank has a seperate breather that exits at the transom, so all good.
