Get off the reef
Fish out that way quite a bit, would get off the reef that should stop the wrasse.
I use mulies & squid and a constant supply of chopped mulie bits & pellets, Must say tho only been catching undersized snapper no keepers.
Got a couple of nice gummys inside warnbro sound on live whiting last thursday tho.
Will be trying to get 19 - 20ks out tuesday or thursday this week as have been given a couple of cords from a mate to try.

Thanks heaps
Thankyou for the advice, will try and fish back a little more behind the reef. Is it best to go inshore side or offshore side, I have a 4.5 mere boat and found the swell to be quite big.

try this
get out on the edges and burley up if ya looking for the snapper. prawns probably wont help you out there much for them either.

I use pellets (chook)
I use pellets (chook) & left over mulies from last trip all chopped up into small bits & always have a large ice cream container in the fridge for all food scraps, from meals during the week. (burley = snapper)

they are good
i find chook pellets are good for your whiting and skippy and stuff. i ussually coat em in oils and put them with the pollard and a special sauce and get the big skippy around. out on the five atm there is some big boys round in 18m we were getting them close to 2kg. great fun on light gear.
