Crack Esky
Submitted by Uluabuster on Mon, 2020-01-20 13:51
G'day fellas,
I have 2 cracks on my esky's lid underside. The cracks are on either side of a wedge where the lid meets the rest of the body of the esky.
Does anyone know how to fix these cracks ?
Because the crack is along the edge of the lid where it gets pushed into the mouth of the esky, a bad fix will show itself pretty quickly.
Having the cracks will not result in leakage of any kind but will allow hot air getting into the supposedly air-tight lid, thus reducing the insulation properties of the lid of the esky.
Thanks

I have seen them fixed with
I have seen them fixed with a soldering iron . Just work it slowly along the crack and use something like a filips head to help mould it together

Thanks fellas. The underside
Thanks fellas.
The underside of my esky is white so a white or transparent rod should suffice. May have to borrow your plastic welder Shark1. Appreciate your offer.
But I may give the SikaFlex Marine Sealant a go first.
Thanks again.
