cray dive

Just got in from another double dive. Little stired up but still great fun .Seen a nice baldie in 6m of water, not many crays still got eight size but worked hard to get them. The edges which have had good crays all last week were quiet, just the odd stray. get the bottles filled tommorrow ready for Sunday/ Monday ,anyone else dive today..

8 Crays!

Fri, 2009-04-10 21:59

Sweet! we got out today for the first time in a few weeks, vis was poor to say the least off hillarys. experienced the same lack of crays

We dived 8m in a spot thats always reliable for crays but all the usual nests were all bare not even any of the resident kakkas, found a few old faithful ledges tho and still managed my 6 while jacqui took the photos but had to cover a hell of alot of ground.

hoping for a quick dash out on monday too :)

Fri, 2009-04-10 22:31

g'day fellas - we went out yesterday from mindarie - didn't see many crays at all - we we're in about 15m.

this is my first season diving for crays - do they usually start to thin out going into the colder months?

Reefmonkey The crays have

Sat, 2009-04-11 11:35

Reefmonkey The crays have been plentyfull in the last week ,but I think the full moon and the bit of swell has spooked them into the holes, this time of year is quite good for crays.. We will be doing a double dive tommorrow, hope to get on the back of the three mile 22m hope to get some pics of some fish.

I had to work my ass off for

Sat, 2009-04-11 16:51

I had to work my ass off for 5 today. The place I dive with nice ledges was empty because they were so spooked and much harder ground nearby, about the same depth had a few but they were very tetchy.

Oh my brother bagged a nice YTK while I was kitting up!
