Crays in the South West

Just wondering if anyone would be willing to point us in the right direction for crays in pots in the South West.
Currently in busso but planning to launch old dunsborough way and head around the cape and pot somewhere there.

ny ideas on bait that is more suited to down this way or things we should be aware of.

Certianly not asking for spots just a generic bit of info would be helpful as we have some of an idea at present.

Have they started walking back in shallower yet?

Cheers

Jess

Start around the point at Bunker bay and gradually work you way round towards Cape Nat, there is plenty of reef to pick from.

Last time I had pots in there we did quite well along the edge from the northern end of the beach out out to in front of the car park pont

Hey mate we’ve still got our pots in off canal rocks. Have moved them into the big stuff in close again and are starting to get some good numbers. Been pulling 14-24 between 3 pots. Launching at old duns and either punting back into the east on the way home or punting out around the corner into a sou west can stink! Towing to canals is heaps easier

good info from kyle and carnarvonite above

plenty of crays about leading into autumm and weather usually settles down to make it easier up to easter to launch & check pots

optimum pulls are every 2 days , but you can stretch it out to 5 or so easily and still get a good feed

if your are going to fish the bunkers /quarrys area around to the cape launch from the bay , if you decide to fish over off canal ,inji or up to sugarloaf then launch from canal imo , just pick your days of low to mod swell ,

we have been getting our bag most trips with good fishing to be had as well
