Hey guys,

Headed out on Sunday with the old man, the boyfriend and the dog for a quick spin and a bit of jigging. It was an awesome day, nice and sunny a little lumpy to begin with but it soon calmed down. It was the dog's first time out on the boat, he wasn't too sure what to make of it, he certainly didn't like the jetty though. He crawled on his belly out to the boat which, although made me feel bad was pretty funny.
 

So we took off and set out our jigs for a bit of drifting. 1st hour went by with nothing except a bit of weed and the old man catching himself. Then the next half hour went by and it wasn't looking good. Then !BAM! Dad's on, expecting it to be the bottom nobody really got excited until the squid hit the surface, and what a squid! But as we all know, with squid you've got let them have their squirts before pulling them up and near your face. I think Dad was a bit too excited. *PFFFTHT* Ink everrrrrrrrrrrrywhere. All over the roof, his face, his shirt, the seats, the carpet and the dog (which is ok, 'cause he's black anyway) Once we cleared most of it away (Dad's shirt now bears the scars of squid) we admired the finely sized squid. Then it was back on again and in the next half hour the boyfriend pulled 2 more in, nothing comparable to Dad's as he let us all know. Being the type to stir he also went on and on how I had caught nothing, not even a cold. Soon it was time to head in. So, being the typical female I started to sulk with the whole, "where's my squid?" and the bottom lip out. Then as I was ready to reel in in defeat when I felt the weight! So I reeled him and let my dad know aaaall about it. Winner :) Still, nowhere near his squid's size but it was the 2nd biggest one of the day. And being the top chick I am, I gave one to the old bloke next door, gutted and all.

So all in all, I'm pretty sure we made Dad's day.
