Dad's first marlin
With Dad here on holidays I took him out today for his first try at gamefishing. The water was looking a while lot nicer than earlier in the week and after an hours trolling we hooked up on the short corner. It decided to jump across the rest of the spread so a bit of mad untangling was required but after 15 minutes I billed a 25-30kg black. A quick snap and the fish was off.
The rest of the day consisted of a 8-10kg Yellowfin Tuna (released), a 2m hammerhead hanging around, a small whale shark coming by for a look and a pack of good spaniards chasing and souveniring my popper in 3m of water well inside the reef while chasing spanglies for tea!
Hopefully there's a few more stories soon with the weather forcast looking how it is for the next few days.
