Daiwa Lexa 2000 seized up

G'day fellas,

The other day I was fishing off the rocks and another bloke casted over my line, being a bit pissed off and not thinking I took a step and ended up stepping into thin air (smart i know). Ended up landing on one knee and my right hand which was holding my rod..

After silently cursing and mending my battle wounds I had another cast and when trying to retrieve my reel was seizing up (obviously from hitting the rock) - the best way I can describe the sensation is if you were trying to retrieve your line and it was wrapped around the tip of the rod. I had a bit of fiddling around/dissasembled (as much as i dare) and it seems to be the handle which is the problem..

Any advice or help would be much apprieciated!

Cheers,

Matt.

Sounds like you may have bent the handle shaft but usually anything around the handle end is a less consistant resistance, it could be the rotor (although I think it maybe graphite resin copolymer) or the main shaft causing the rotor to rub on the bail brake/trip, you may have to send it to Oceanside,Daiwa or DIY and order the parts.
