Day of red-emption
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Wed, 2019-05-22 19:29
Our 7th and last day on the water in coral bay for this year went well with another couple of pbs. I managed a nice red at 9,75 KG just under the best for the trip. Sandy got a pb of spanglie and a first of a blue barred parrot fish that went 5 1/2 kg. 7 reds in total for the day with various other species to give us the bag out.

Can I ask though, and please
Can I ask though, and please don't jump on my head as I want to be enlightened. I count 16 fish, I was of the understanding that 15 was the boat limit up north if you have 3 people on board?

No probs. My understanding
No probs. My understanding while reading the regs the blue barred is in a diff category and not included in the cat 1. Hope we didnt read it incorrectly.

I just looked at the 17/18 rules guide and can't see any mention of a boat limit outside of metro where abouts did you hear of that rule.

Well done, Russ
Great fishing in a modest rig--the Dominator delivers! Looks like you have been catching like the blokes in the million dollar rigs towed by yank tanks

That’s a nice bag of fish
That’s a nice bag of fish there, although I’m surprised you picked up Spanglies in water that deep. I haven’t really caught them over about 65m. How do you find the Spanglies to eat ? I find the bigger ones to be really tough on the chew. I’ve actually stopped keeping them and either return them or use for bait if I’m low.
Be interested to hear how you prepare them to eat.
