Major stuff up
3 blokes arrived in Canarvon at 1500, launched the boat an hour later and headed off to Bernier Island [didn't log on to sea rescue].
At approx 0530 sea resce got a phone call from one of the blokes wives saying she got a text at around 0230 saying the boat was sinking but they were all ok, thing is she didn't hear the message come through and only noticed it when she got up.
Seems they anchored the boat and went to sleep on the island [no camping or sleeping allowed on Bernier, Koks or Dorre Islands] and during the night the winds as forecast increased from the east and the boat dragged anchor and finished up on the beach full of water.
The boys from sea rescue took off around 0700, taking a pump with them but due to conditions weren't able to use it. They brought the three blokes back with them leaving the boat to be salvaged yesterday by a commercial operator.
Another lesson to be learnt about checking forecasts, logging on to sea rescue and choosing where you plan to moor up as the east side of the islands offer no protection from the wind and waves in anything from east to north east winds and Red Cliff bay and Hospital bay the only ones with SE winds

Don't Know
Don'k know but don't think so. They left Carnarvon at 1600 and would have taken them around an hour across to Berneir, time they unloaded their gear it would have been nearly dark.
Not sure on what it would have cost for Bruce to run across in his charter boat to salvage their boat but it wouldn't have been cheap so hope their insurance pays for it
