Deep sea fishing in Bunbury
Submitted by Piggy on Wed, 2012-09-05 22:46
Gday,
I have been thinking about going fishing in Bunbury soon and I have been hitting google to see if there were any decent catches at the moment and where the fish were biting. I have a 25 foot trophy so distance out isnt too much of a drama, its finding the ground and fish which is the drama and everywhere I look on google seems to be coming up with dead ends and everyone complaining there is no fish in Bunbury.
If anyone would like to give me pointers or let me know if they have caught any lately it would be a great help!
Cheers

Binningup
I've heard that there is a bit of reef about 24k's out from Binningup. There was a shark attack out there a few years ago with a guy diving for crays I think, so there must be some kind of structure out there. You should be able to suss it out on your GPS if you have a Navionics card.
Feel free to pm me to share your dhuey fillets when you get back in.

Cheers for the replies guys
I have a lowrance hds10 and cant seem to find too much on there either so its going to be a bit of a guess where ever I decide to drop the line. I was looking at the last Bunbury fishing boat club competition they had and there were some good catches amongst them including dhuies and snapper.... so I might just wait at the boat ramp until someone who looks like they know what they are doing and follow them!! haha

Nah no fish in Bunno. Just kidding pick a depth and work the contour lines, best bet start in the 30's and move deeper.Once you are out level with the cape you should pick up a bit of good ground.Agree with the above comments its a bit of a desert but every desert has an oasis, they are there you just have to find them.
