Deep Sea Reel

As I am gearing up to do some serious bottom bouncing can anyone suggest a good reel for the job.

Fishing deep water so will need to have line level and be a fast retrieve, anyone got something for sale .

Deepwater!

Coley,

With deeper water work your better off with no level wind as thats a weak point (sacraficial part basically) and the deep work will expediate problems in that area. I'd stick to no level wind and the opposite, a lower speed reel. I fish deep alot and i've used both and the lower ratio the better/big difference. The lower speed/ratio makes the job alot easier and the likes of a two speed reel even better. I also prefer the lever drag for more precise drag curve/adjustability!

Penn/Okuma/Shimano are a few suggestions!

I think what I was trying to say is that I would like the line to come up quicker p/cranks of the handle as the shoulder aint what it used to be.

A two speed would be great I agree with a lever drag.

Anyone got one for sale ??????

If you have a bad shoulder

If you have a bad shoulder then gear down not up or go two speed. More easy winds are better on the body than fewer hard ones.
