CPBA Ramps Today

Fellow Fishers

I was launching my boat this morning with my son and a guy with his boat on the other ramp adjacent to me (I think is hull was a thunderbird style? Inboards) his engine blew up! It was a mighty bang.. with bits flying about… I am still speechless just thinking about it.We all came to assist and lucky, the club bosun (Tony) had a big fire extinguisher close by… the owner of the boat is very lucky that the rest of the boat didn’t go up as well, luckily no one got hurt.I really feel sorry for the owner, thinking he is just a guy like us with his pride and joy…and bang!

It reminds us how dangerous boats can be.

My son and I were only about 10-15meters from the explosion…

Might explain why i saw Tonys car at the ramp yesterday parked up close (unusual). That big fire extinguisher near the little hut (i think thats where it is) served its purpose.......dangerous stuff!

but....... I bet he "thanked his lucky stars" it happened at the ramp and not an hour later whilst out the middle of nowhere. Just glad to hear no injuries aswell.

on the grass near the ramp to the over night pens.

While we where there picked up 6 plastic bags on the ramps .. ie ice bags, shopping bags & bait bags, saw two floating in the marina, please people don't throw your plastic bags overboard, somebody else may have them sucked into their water in take on their motors plus the wild life don't like them either.  Had my whinge, thank you
