Denmark /Albany/Walpole Scenery to die for
Managed to take a few days holiday down south with the family. The weather was a little unkind to fish so we did a fair bit of driving and sight seeing.
That area is certainly one that I would recommend everyone visits at one time or another, the scenery is absolutely spectacular.
Here are a few pics from the thousands we took over the three or four days touring around down there. (We had a little family photography contest between my 11yr old and 15yr old girls and myself. Theres were better than mine!!!!)
Above is the view from our chalet.
Above: Heading down to Tree Top Walk
Above: One of the Giants of Walpole
Above: Amazing textures of the forest
Above: Getting to the water's edge
Above: The unique patterns of the Gap and surrounding rock formations
Above: Closer to Denmark
Above: The Wild Southern Ocean
Above: Just imagine what's down there in the wash.
Above: More fishing temptations
Above: More rugged coastline
Just a small sample of the beauty down that way. Loads more pics of Greenpools, Elephant Rocks, the Valley of the Giants, Walpole Inlet, Irwin Inlet etc, etc, etc...
I can't wait to get back down there again... roll on summer.
Cheers

Certainly somewhere I would consider retiring to when the time comes.

Fantastic photos! Makes me
Fantastic photos! Makes me wish it was January already when Wade and I are heading down. Shame the weather wasn't nicer for you so you could get some fishing in, but it looks like you had a good time anyway.

Nov 7 - 15 for me!
Been to Walpole about 12 -15 times in the last couple of years with my gf's family having a home down there. Friend of mine is going to Canada at the end of Nov to work the snow season so we are going for a fishing trip before he leaves.
Looking forward to the fishing and the wineries too! Hopefully top the 43cm bream boat record and score some nice kg whiting too:D
For the record, which is the better caravan park, rest point or coalmine beach as we are tenting this time round.

Coalmine has lots of shade
Coalmine has lots of shade and good amenities. We stayed in a chalet (awesome view) but mates stayed in the tent/van part and they had a great site

Nice work with the camera Andy.
It wasn't that long ago we did the trip down to Esperance and then around the coast back to Perth. It's such beautiful country. I wish I was so good with a camera.
