new marina

Tue, 2010-07-20 16:26

i have been told theres already one under way adjacent the Alkimo wreck, this amazes me if its true because there a fair bit of reef in front of the Alkimos site and when the swells up she can get abit hairy going through the channel

They have already installed the underground sewerage lines out past the reef as well when i was up that way several months back

I think that has something to do with all the weed

Tue, 2010-07-20 19:41

that is messing up a lot of good fishing spots up that way.

They blasted a couple of good little dive spots to bits to make way for the pipe.A lot of weed on the bommies up there.

I wish a marina was on the way....

Tue, 2010-07-20 22:40

It was a question I asked, but get the feeling its not going to happen any time soon - and has certainly not started at Alkimos or Eglington.

Reckon somethings gotta happen soon up that way - Two-rocks ramp is a joke and angler effort is increasing at both Mindarie and Two-rocks.....imagine how bad it will be in a few years with Trinity and Shorehaven and Jindowie all in their early stages!!

well over due

Wed, 2010-07-21 13:05

I would have to agree that with all of the exspansion in the northern areas , some new ramps are required. Two rocks has been said before that its well over due for several new ramps and carpark upgrade, The money i keep giving the carpark attendant tells me its for a ramp upgrade happening soon.

Further north , Seabird and Moore river area to have new ramps installed which would open lots of  new ground

IMO they should cut some channels and creat a sea wall north of Floreat beach area and have a marina around the dog beach area and that will give the rotto boats a straight run across and free up Hillarys and allow some homes  to be built on the channels infront of the city beach homes on all of the spare land

Lands minister is quoted saying

Thu, 2010-07-22 15:20

"Possible Marina facilities" in the same write up,but id bet there's gonna be some endangered starfish that stops it from going ahead or red tape - hope not but..

I asked the developers at PEET and they tell me the same thing - only a possibility at present, but its a good selling point.

The main reason for a a

Thu, 2010-07-22 16:08

The main reason for a a marina there is it has direct access to deeper water channels meaning less digging and hopefully better water flow.

Will have to wait and see.
