The new Biomasters look good
The new Biomasters look good mate, was looking at them the other day when I got my Stella 10k.They have replaced the twin powers, by all reports stronger better reels & are actually cheaper. Other than that Saragosa's are a good option.

My 8000 gosa is good but a overkill for dhus. But hey if you like big reels then they up bulletproof for sure !!
I run a 3000 Daiwa Freems on my jigging setup and love it. But now most of my bottom bashing is done on my Talica !

8000 is not big if he is dropping down baits opposed to jigging
Hey Charlie what is your maximum budget? Does it have to be spin or can it be an overhead?

Hi Liam, have an Stradic FJ
Hi Liam, have an Stradic FJ 5000 for jigging with a light rod, but don't fancy dropping a twenty ounce sinker of the end. I know 8000 is quite big, however for the type of fishing we do (big sinkers, rocky bottom) I think I need the drag and line capacity of a bigger reel. My budget would be around that $350 mark (maximum about $400) and am happy if it's a spinner or overhead. Help is much appreciated.
Cheers, Charlie.

Charlie you are spot on with
Charlie you are spot on with the 8000 for dropping those big baits, I'm thinking as the others have mentioned looking at an overhead to do the job down here especially if you want to push deeper into the 100's for nannygai & pinkie's over summer. Personally for some reason I prefer OH with baits especially if the current, wind or swell is up to keep the baits in the zone.
The talica has been mentioned so you could count the trinidad in that also but that's going to be over budget, perhaps the saltist lever drag might be worth a look & then some cash spare to spool up.
