my kids love it . tender as . chillie ,garlic, chicken salt ,black pepper 1000 times better than bought stuff. i always wash suckers off(yuck).you can grab a leg use a fork and spread it on bread.still a good waste of bait
i do them fresh.slam on ground until they go limp. 50/50 white malt vin to water 3 big spoons of sault.boil on(gas) for 1 hour let them sit in hot water for 15 mins..remove your occo from mix(already pickled) then i do the same mix 50/50 white malt .i add crushed garlic ,black pepper chicken salt .(basic mix from there i taste mix)make sure it tastes nice, then i add chillies, from there you can add anthing you like.diced onion ,capciican what ever your tastes are, (never use stuff you cook then in).some people like to freeze them this also makes them go soft prior to cooking(1 week in freezer then thaw and cook) .once i have cooked made mix.i run cooked occy under cold water gently running fingers down occo leg, everything falls of(skin suckers) .then i use bread and butter knife to chop in bite size chunks, put in your vin mix in jars, always use white malt vin,it turns out very very soft ,always cook outside(bloody stinks when cooking ) otherwize get your ass kicked by wife ,,hope this has helped
just started potting for occys off the groynes around bunbury. Using just a basic pot bit of 150mm pipe capped on one end. filled one end with concrete and have the other end weighted so pretty confident they shouldn't move. Have u tried potting from rock groynes or only from boat? I have seen occys before where my pots are. Anything you could suggest to help me snare a few?

Nice one John!
I've been busy upgrading the boat instead.
Installed a Deck Wash and new dual battery system now.
Next is a stereo so i can belt out some real music over your ABBA on the water.
