Diawa Exceller 6500DA or Fin-Nor Offshore OFS ???
Submitted by Watto75 on Sun, 2011-02-06 19:50
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a ATC VX Max 20-50lb Jig rod and was thinking about putting either a Diawa Exceller 6500 or 4500 reel but a mate is pushing me to get a Fin-Nor OFS.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks Watto

for jigging id go exceller,
for jigging id go exceller, but not the 6500 size for your rod, look into the 4500 size. fin nor would be good for bottom bouncing, way too heavy for jigging

I'm using the Excellor 6500da
I'm using the Excellor 6500da for the boat and can't fault them. The only problem ive had is the bail arm pulling out from join to roller bearing. Suspect hit on hand rail though. Drags are good and handles the sambos well.Good value

matei have got a couple of
mate
i have got a couple of exerler 6500's and rate them highly, i even got a 3 1/2 meter bronze out at the wrecks, burnt my drag out and broke the bail arm bracket (proberly my fault) but performed very well, they were recomended by honsu (oceanside tackle) because of the slower speed than the saltist 6500, which i thought was spot on in the end.
have been out again a few times with no probs at all.
search under...!!we did it today!! and see what it got.
cheers ron
