dive at gero

hey all
just been for a scuba dive off explosives off gero. we went in off the beach got to about 3m deep visibility was 2-3 m not to bad. we made way to the reef just to see if there were any crays around. to my surprise wall to wall crays they were everywhere, we made our way into a cave saw a nice trout and a big sambo as it circled us for a while. moved on to the other side of the reef found few small slimy cods about 450-500mm long nice to see so close in. we saw a couple clams and a occy that wanted to hitch a ride on my arm. swell was down weather was good why not.

was it free diving?
and did you use a gun or was it just a looking dive?

nah mate on scuba went down
nah mate on scuba went down to about 9m
just went for a look no point taking a gun the spot gets hammered and the ban is on here in gero cant wait for the cray season i'll catchaplenty

Hopefully the swell's down for the start of the season so you can go back to pick a few up. I know I'm looking forward to getting back in the water.

was great
was awesome to get back in the water its the first time in 3 months for me i love it and will be beach diving more often after work most days. i'm going to invest in a camera during the ban so i got something to do whilst i'm down there. theres some great sights to be seen

sounds like fun , a camera is a good way to remember the event as you never know when something might catch your eye, if you get one of the smaller cameras you can tuck them away inside the sleeve of your wettie while doing other stuff. hope the crays will hang around for you in that spot

Sounds really good, Im thinking about getting back into it myself now, diving for the crays at Gero. Been a long while since I have done that. Inner space, Nothing like it!!
