Dive Tickets

Say I want to get my dive ticket, how much is it and who is good at going with for it and what is a rough estimate for a full set of gear nothing too blingy just practical.

Check this out, lots of info

http://www.dolphinscuba.com.au/Learn%20to%20Dive.pdf

http://www.perthdiving.com.au/enter.html

I did my original course in '84, so not really in touch with 'who is good'.  I get my fills at Dolphin in Welshpool - they have a good crew and I see plenty of people training there.

Gear - there is alot!

Tank/regs/BCD - brand new $800-$2000 for a single tank kit.  If planning on long term use, I'd edge toward a better quality, comfort - but all gear has to be to Australian standards, so cheaper stuff will do the job.

Comfortable snorkelling gear (suit, mask, boots, fins, gloves) is a must.

Other - weight belt, knife, compass, torch, spare torch, dive flag, slate, strobe, bag or two, hood, catch bag, various clips and straps, prawn net, cray loop, shark shield, underwater camera, spear gun and spares....gees no wonder I've got a sore back!

The good thing is, once you have the gear and look after it, it will last.

So a roughy for the lot - course and gear, say 2K min.

Cheers Pete
