Dollies on a Monday

Took a Monday trip out to the FADs for a troll and came up trumps.

First FAD had fish on it as well as another Fishwrecked member who must have got out there super early as we got there early ourselves.

Picked up 1 Dolly on a trolled skirt and then tried a few swim baits for no success. They seemed to be a bit picky.

We then trolled over to a second FAD with no success but as we came closer to the second FAD there were spashes, birds and flying dolphin fish everywhere.

First pass an we are ON. Fish on board and ready for the next pass with fish all around the boat. Put the boat in gear and lures out and before we could set the drag ON again. Awsome.

Another pass and a missed hookup, next pass ON.

Change of tactic was then decided so we threw around plastics while drifting. Lots of hookups, lost fish and a a fish box full of keepers.

Top day out with awsome water conditions for the 60NM trip. Sport fishing in Perth. Who would have thought it could be so good.

Thanks to my crew. No names mentioned. He knows who he is.

yeh boys, we left woddies on dark wanting to be the first boat out there.

by the time you guys showed up we already had 3 onboard and a 3 released looking for bigger ones, all came on lures.

it went quiet pretty much when you got there, we switched to squid and picked up a few more including the big shark.

we left them biting as we had enough and it was time to hunt a dhuy.

great to see the other fad went off and you got into a few, turned out to be a great day on the water.

and yes it was me on the radio that called you up

Cheers

We were on the HYC FAD a couple of weeks ago, it was alive with dollies we got heaps would only take mulies though. Anyway as we drifted away from the FAD we were looking back at it, when we were about 30-40m away something Friggin fast and friggin HUGE surfaced right next to the FAD and made it look like a little fishing float, it had to be at least 4m+ long big dorsal fin even bigger tail sticking out of the water 4 or 5 dollies lept out of the water to avoid being eaten. We started the boat went back to the FAD, i put on a large gardie with big gangs on me 36Kg outfit but didnt have time to use wire hoping it would take the gangs only - anyway needless to say i got bitten off i could nt believe it the line hardly even went tense it just came along and took it we didnt see it the second time it was down deeper but next to the FAD - Hope your not one of these carz guys who spearfish off the FAD's you wouldnt wana be in the water with that fish !
