Yep high sticking will do that and with the helping hand half way up wouldn't have helped. Decent trev tho

To me it looked like it broke just behind the joining ferrel bit strange could it have had damage in this area prior to break.

It broke just up a little higher than the join... was completely my fault as you said rods aren't designs to have the full load put on the mid section like that... I knew straight away it was my fault when I did it... lesson learnt :)
