Dunsborough Dhuies, again sorry lads

A good mate of mine that has never really fished has been hounding me for ages to take him out, put the poor bastard off for a while & the wind hasn't really played ball. However after numerous mutterings & opening my deep freezer to point out he would like some of those fillets in his own we managed to bite the bullet & get out, he also got his old boy in on the action whom has a fair bit of yachtie experience which played out well today with the winds. Typical South West weather had me flogging through the bay at 35knots & then screaming to a halt & doing a 10 to 15 punch getting to the grounds, was an experience for my mate to see how wild it can get with a bit of swell floating around. Dropped some skirts out the back considering the travel speed but no joy, we pulled up to the marks & I got the boys sorted with bait. Straightened a few gama's the other week out with Seaquest so I called in in to DOS & changed over to Owner's which proved to be a wise move. First drift & Drewski landed his first Dhu Banger & ya couldn't wipe the smile off his dial, we also landed dhu's which released well (bait & jig) Next drift was on another lump close by & this baby was showing some serious goods, old mate cleaned up on this dhu banger which measured 105cm & pulled some serious string, I landed a nice one on a fcl labo at the same time which normally would have been dispatched but next to this one it was a no brainer. Headed off to tackle the dolly's we hooked into last week, chucked out a few richter dorado's which the YTK were all over & kept the boys grinning but the mahi were shy. Had them jumping close by with what looked to be a serious predator up their clacker which may have shut them down so sent out a soft oscar in those green / yellow colours but no joy. Wind then started to turn from the S into a nasty SW so belted the phuck outta there! The boys just dropped off some YTK carpaccio, sashimi & sushi which is going down an absolute treat. Cheers, Lamby

Cheers Mate. I'll definitely take you up on that at some time. No doubt it would be a fun day out on the boat with plenty of stories to tell between fish. If you're ever up this way drop me a pm and we'll have you over for a feed and a beer.

I am still an apprentice Don, the other lads are the master baiters!

Tongue firmly in cheek SeaKem hahaha

Yeah cheers Doaks, they looked the goods on the way out shame I wasn't able to hang around. What did you do with Nizzy's nuts?? So much for "popping out for a few beers with the boys love" had a few too many & fell asleep on the couch. Might as well have stayed out & copped the same grief LOL

Nah mate was up at 3am with junior & saw the weather come in from the north, was going off canals so that was completely blown out the water. On daddy day care duties today & sent the missus out for a bit of woman time, rack up some brownies to get out on Sunday instead if it holds.

They did alright mate, called by in the arvo with a nice pair of dhuies & some hard weather to contend with. Doaky I presume will stick up some pics.
