Early Sat morning report

Went out yesterday morning 5:30am, just after the thunderstorm came thru.  We first went out to the Five Fathom Bank and drifted over a few times and caught 4 nice skippy, we then went out to 40m mark and caught a 3 nice King George Whiting.  It was nice and quiet out on the water as most boaties werent sure with the approaching cyclone.

What is the easiest and best way to cook up King George Whiting? Any tips?

Cheers.

Lovely fish. I have them whole. Just lightly flower them with some seasoning and fry them golden brown in some good oil. Oh so good!

Thanks guys, had one for dinner and it was delish.  By the way what is  a good size King George. The ones we got were between 480mm to 500mm.  Are they common in deeper waters around perth?

but they do get a whole lot bigger. I caught and seen a few up around the 70-75cm mark and i'm sure they get bigger than that. Go hard at that size too.

some nice feeds there by the sounds. the kg;s are great eating and imo best cooked simple. lightly floured and pan fried in a bit of butter.

nothing else needs to be done to those fantastic tasting fish. enjoy. and yes they often come in at around that size in deeper waters but you gotta be lucky to come accross good consistant grounds
