All sea rescues have specific provision for logging on and off divers.....I had one last season where exactly the same thing happened and indeed a few years ago almost had it happen to me, we were about to roll out of the boat when something literally cut through 12mm anchor rope but we had logged in

If no one on the boat I always log in for dives and drop 2 anchors no matter what the conditions are.
