END TO A GREAT MARRON SEASON
hey hows it going guys back for my ussal stint hope you where all out in the fresh air baging your self a few marron its been a pretty good year for me with marron numbers being plentifull.
How ever when i was snarring one of the rivers i cam across 3 blokes who all had enclosed nets i would say about 4 each and had a 20 litre white bucket full of undersized ones. I dont know what your stance is here with rules and regulation but it really does destroy marron populations and spoils it for every one who does the right thing n stuff ? i was just wondering if any one can help me on what i should do if a nother situation like this occurs and who can i call? to report this cheers ;)

Hi Salmon Hunter hey if you come across this situation of people taking Marron illegally or any other fish species call the Department of Fisheries (08)94827333 if you can get their vehicle rego.Depending on your situation it may be best not to challenge them as things could turn nasty.With Salmon feaver upon us people tend to go over board with their bag limits. Anyway hope this advice answers your question.

yeh no worries guys thanks for the number its a comun thing to see around the dwellingup area. will put number on speed dial from the stuff ive seen :P does any one know the penaltys for illeagal traps? also i got me mobile phone so i could have probaly taken photos of the traps when they were not being acompanied didnt cross my mind at the time of the event.... all in all great season had a ball geting out in the the fresh forest air and camping out a bit despite the odd balls flouting the rulles ................................................................salmon here i come !!!

Just stop in at the lunch
Just stop in at the lunch time mess rooms at large SW powerstations/coalmines/alumina refineries etc; and notice how many people are eating undersize marron sandwiches for lunch
Unfortunately some of these guys see marron as their resource and you city folk are the poachers stealing their marron.

i can see your view but im a born and bred northam boy /country so i have not come from a city back ground but there where rules and penaltys to maintain marron for the future. therfor people with there undersized marron sandwitches just need to stop and have a look at them self yeh BLOODY nice feed but let em grow get em in season and 2 marron will fill a sandwitch not 20 small ones?
