I have had a epirb for a little while now, bought it used. I have never got around to registering it. I know i should have straight away, how do i go about this without the original owners details?

AMSA have all the info you
AMSA have all the info you need.

If legit I would assume the previous owner deregistered it so should be no issue re registering it.
Have you checked out the battery life? they have to be replaced at manufactures interval to be legal. Often not much more to buy a new Epirb instead of replacing batteries.

You just go on and resister it and it overrides the previous details and links it to yours

I've done it before and you
I've done it before and you have to get the previous owner to log into their AMSA account and mark the unit as "sold".
Once it's marked as sold you can then register it to your account using the ID on the Epirb.
If the previous owner hasn't marked it as sold on their account you will probably have issues trying to register it. You might need to call AMSA and see if they can help.

I didn't have to do that.
I didn't have to do that. Just did it all online and now it shows up as one of my two on my profile
