Epirb

Anyone have one of these Epirbs? " KTI Safety Alert SA1G GPS EPIRB" only $269 delivered from Vic. Can't find much info on them.

I got one

I got one about 2 years ago for $249 plus delivery from NSW. Thankfully no need to use it to date but it has a 10 yr warranty and expected life of 20 yrs.

Here's a link to the manufactures website if that's the info you were after.

Was more after a review/ comparison but I guess that's a big ask as no one would have used hopefully, you've had yours two years with no issues that's enough info for me to go ahead and buy one cheers.

No issues

When a person has an EPIRB for a few years and never had to activate the EPIRB, but reckons theres "no issues", how can you tell if theres issues? I generally press the "test" switch before heading out. Is that the only test we can do to make sure the unit is working?

Bleicester, the above is not targeted at you. I'm only curious as to how to make sure an EPIRB is still effective..

Use the test switch

As Ashen has said give the test switch a push each time you go out on the water it's about all you can do and trust.

No issues as in reflective stickers not falling off, string not unravelling, antenna not rusting or bracket failing.
