Epribs
Submitted by Bodie on Thu, 2009-08-27 09:36
After hearing about the blokes off Esperance who were in the drink, who's Eprib went off and was detected by Sea rescue in NSW, it prompted me to think about finding out that my eprib was actually registered correctly.
I submitted the forms when i bought it with boat name and details etc... but never actually checked to make sure everything was ok.
Anyone know how or who i can check this thrugh???
Thought it might be interesting for others too, as i for one had not thought about it until now.

All done;
Didn't even know you could do this;
Have your HEX number handy and create a login. Select 2nd option (if EPIRB registered).

I've added the tinnie and Pootrol and you can even leave a message about trip intentions.
A pretty intelligent way of doing things for that extra level of safety and assistance to rescue services...if the shite does hit the fan.
Check it out.
Cheers Pete

When I bought my EPIRB the
When I bought my EPIRB the information about registering it with AMSA was included with all the paperwork inside the box. After reading the information I took the easiest option filled out all my details online and submitted the application that way. Within seven days I had a letter returned from AMSA acknowledging my submission for my EPIRB. Its really a very easy thing to do, but it does help if you read all associated paperwork that comes with the EPIRB inside the box. This reminds me, of that advert during the Ashes series, on SBS for VB beer, in that parade, it shows, "The Men Who Should Read the Instructions" I think a few Fishwrecks should have been in that parade. Jim.
fishing, that used to be free!!!!
