We are getting down there on

We are getting down there on the 30th of September, sounds like you will be gone by then.

We had some luck with squid on the long jetty just near the end of the shopping area, I believe it may be the jetty allmost in front of where you are going to be staying, any other fishing we head out east to the national park areas.

G'day, still a few salmon

G'day, still a few salmon around, most beaches will have them. Tanker Jetty is still closed as theres a foreshore development going on there.
Bandy is good for KGs and small skip/hezzas...never heard of a mulloway getting caught there.
Try Fourth and Salmon beaches early morning

Tom The jetty will be closed

Tom

The jetty will be closed for the forseeable future ('least 8 weeks according to a town engineer who I spoke to), but you can still find squid at the Tailor street jetty opposite the tea rooms.  Topwater luring there after dark may turn up some snook.  Seal is sometimes around (now that he's not being fed at the tanker jetty!) and a PITA when he is.

Pleanty of bream in the lakes- suggest you try Woody and Windabout.  Bait is probably a better option at this time of year.

Bandy Creek you'll find skippy, bream, herring, flathead and sometimes whiting.  Never heard of Mulloway being caught there either.  If the bloody seal is around you may as well pack up and leave.  Usually smaller fish as noted by Woody.

Salmon will pretty much be where you find them- just keep casting.  As mentioned the western side beaches are good.  West beach has two nice holes next to/between the reefs.  Salmon beach is easily accessible and is a popular spot- a nice mixed bag beach even when the salmon aren't around.  Fourth beach may be a better spot to try for Mulloway.

Probably best to avoid the rocks around Esperence.

If you want to do a boat charter, speak to the guys at Yot Spot opposite the Tailor street jetty.

The proprietor at Southern Sports and Tackle in the Woolworths mall (opposite Red Rooster) will point you in the right direction, and you can stock up on bait, tackle and berley while you're there.

Nice fish and chips shop near McDonalds if you strike out at the beaches....

Good luck!
