Etec 300 hr service

I'm looking at possibly buying a cat with 90 hp etecs that require the 300 hour service. Can anyone tell me the basic cost involved. Reccomendations SOR..?

Look at previous service
Look at previous service history, notorious problems with sticking exhaust valves. $1000 repair that doesnt fix the problem. Evinrude admit to the problem and even offer the spare parts, all 50 bucks worth with 950 in labour splitting the power head that they will not cover.
Crap engines and I would stay the hell away from them.
With my etec the throttle was stuck in the open position and the only consequence was that it ran a little rough at start up, stuck in any other position you will have performance issues. The mechanic actually disconnected the adjuster so under diagnostic it appears to be working but infact did nothing.
Evinrude apparently fixed the problem by putting a grease point on the EV shaft, waste of bloody time.
Resale value of an etec is also next to nothing.
